A New Year’s Walk
The clock strikes twelve, the night is clear,
A gentle wind whispers, “A brand new year.”
He steps outside with his faithful friend,
Paws on the ground, hearts to mend.
Through quiet streets, the snowflakes fall,
A joyful bark echoes, a happy call.
Eyes meet eyes, no words are needed,
Love in its simplest form, hearts undefeated.
The fire waits when the walk is done,
They share a glance, two souls as one.
The year ahead may twist and bend,
But they’ve got each other till the very end.
Here’s to the year that’s fresh and new,
With wagging tails and morning dew.
Side by side, through sun and rain,
A man and his dog, hearts unchained.
Every step, every laugh, every morning bright,
A loyal friend makes the darkest night light.
Raise your cup to the love you know,
The simplest joys are the ones that grow.
