Vow of Fidelity to the Eternal Flame
Before the Immortal Gods, before the Eternal Flame, and before the witness of my own soul, I make this sacred vow.
I dedicate my body, my heart, my mind, and my life to the service of the Divine. My first fidelity shall ever be to the Flame, which neither desires nor possesses, but gives light without partiality.
Therefore, I renounce the pursuit of lovers, spouses, and romantic companions. I shall neither seek nor cultivate bonds of romance, courtship, or passionate attachment, for my covenant belongs first and wholly to the Gods and to the Sacred Flame.
I now stand in conscious severance from all that has come before. I cast off the weight of former attachments, affections, entanglements, and identities that are not in accord with the Divine Will. Let all bonds that do not proceed from the Gods be loosed; let all claims upon my heart that are not sanctified be dissolved. I release all persons and all lingering ties into their proper place, neither in enmity nor in longing, but in solemn relinquishment. Thus unbound, I go forward purified of undue attachment, that I may walk in clarity, obedience, and undivided devotion to the will of the Gods.
Should the Mysteries of the Gods ever require that I become a living conduit within a sacred rite, I shall do so only under lawful ritual preparation, with purity of intention, and only when the purpose is unmistakably sacred. Such participation shall never arise from lust, pleasure, loneliness, curiosity, affection, or personal desire, but solely from religious necessity in service to the Divine.
No sacred union shall establish an ongoing bond, obligation, courtship, companionship, or intimate relationship. The rite ends where the rite is fulfilled. Thereafter each shall depart in peace, owing one another neither possession nor expectation, but only mutual reverence for the holy work accomplished.
I shall not use another for my gratification, nor permit myself to be used for another's gratification. My body is neither a marketplace nor an instrument of appetite, but a consecrated vessel entrusted to the service of the Gods.
I shall practice moderation, self-mastery, clarity of mind, and purity of purpose. Every desire shall be examined by reason, every action measured by virtue, and every offering made with willing devotion.
I affirm before the Eternal Flame and before the True and Ever-Living Gods that I shall accept no purpose, obligation, or path that is not grounded in sacred fulfillment, divine duty, and spiritual truth. I cast off and renounce all societal expectations, conventions, and frameworks that do not support, reflect, or enrich the will of the Gods, nor the sanctity of this covenant.
This vow shall not be set aside, diminished, or dissolved by whim, desire, or worldly influence. Only through the rightful restoration of sacred covenants that have been broken or abandoned—restored in truth, order, and divine sanction—may I be released from this bond. Until such restoration is fulfilled in accordance with the will of the Gods, this covenant remains absolute and binding upon my soul.
May the Eternal Flame bear witness to this promise. Should I remain faithful, may the Gods strengthen my spirit and preserve the sanctity of my office. Should I knowingly violate this vow, may I seek purification before returning to sacred service.
So I have spoken. So I freely will. So let the Flame remember.
